Stella Is Great (and Fashionable)!

A quick recap before I get to the update: Frost Warrior was purchased at OBS October 2019 yearling sale by Wasabi Ventures Stables and was trained and raced by them until November 2022. At that point, she moved to a different ownership group. In June 2023, Wasabi Aftercare Fund (then known as The Horse Fund) privately purchased her and retired her via Galloping Out. In April 2024, Alison adopted Frost Warrior and gave her the name of Stella.

Stella is great!

When I reached out to Alison, those were the very first words she said. “Stella is great!” What better way to start an update on a retired racehorse! Alison continued,

“She has really settled in to a great routine. She has developed a lovely trot, and we are working on a balanced canter both directions. She loves a drink from the hose and her best friend, Eleanor.

She has grown up so much. She never spooks but sometimes needs a long look at new things. She still needs encouragement on those hard days when there’s a big change.

A farrier was recently doing hot shoeing, and I guess several horses were upset as they came in from turn out. Stella walked right past!”

Stella is fashionable

In addition to sharing these updates, Alison sent a number of photos of Stella. These included: a selfie of Stella and Alison, Stella enjoying a drink, Stella ready for practice, and Stella in her fly gear. Between the zebra-striped fly sheet and pink fly mask, her fashion sense is off the charts. To see all of Stella’s photos, please go to her Facebook album.
