OTTB Madness- 2025

Yes, March Madness is in the air, but for us it is slightly different. Welcome to OTTB Madness- 2025! Featuring horses instead of college basketball teams, it’s sure to be fun for all who are equine enthusiasts.

For our second annual OTTB Madness, we have chosen 16 of the retired Thoroughbred racehorses that are followed by Wasabi Aftercare Fund. These 16 horses will “compete” in a four-round tournament to see who earns the title of champion!*

OTTB Madness schedule

• Round 1- Sweet 16
  • March 20th-23rd
• Round 2- Elite 8
  • March 27th-30th
• Round 3- Final 4
  • April 5th
• Round 4- OTTB Championship
  • April 7th

Voting will take place via an online form. On the starting day of each round, the ballot will go live at 7 am ET and will close at 9 pm ET on the ending day. The winning off-track Thoroughbred will be featured prominently on our social media pages and will receive a bag of horse cookies.

Now that we have covered dates, voting procedures, and prizes, it’s time to announce the sixteen competitors!
